The situation

Blueshirt had a complex Bubble application with deep integrations into AWS backend services. Over time, the system had developed critical security vulnerabilities and performance issues that made it increasingly difficult to maintain. Updates were risky — every change carried the potential to break something else. The architecture had grown beyond what the existing setup could support reliably.

The product was generating value — but the foundation underneath it was becoming a liability, and the team was spending more time managing the technology than running the business.

What GoldenAxe did

The engagement started with the Mine stage of the Forge Method — a full technical audit to understand the architecture, map the AWS integrations, and identify where the critical risks were. From there, all high-priority security vulnerabilities were resolved and the performance issues degrading the user experience were addressed.

But fixing the immediate problems wasn't enough. The areas of the codebase creating ongoing fragility — the parts that broke every time something else changed — needed to be restructured. Those sections were rebuilt with cleaner architecture, proper documentation, and decision logs explaining why each change was made.

Where it stands now

The Blueshirt application has been maintained by GoldenAxe for over 12 months. The system is stable and secure. Updates ship with confidence instead of anxiety. The architecture supports the business rather than constraining it — and every decision is documented for full transparency.

What started as a rescue became an ongoing partnership. That's how the best working relationships work.
